 need help with this unit ... just like everybody else (6/13/2010)
I also agree that it is a lousy unit, but is there any way to get some technical support somewhere? I also cannot get past the E3 error message. How do I know what the 3 code means? It isn't in the manual. Did all of you guys just throw away your unit and give up?

Our unit went dead with error code E3 within two weeks. No help from the company we bought it from and no information for the Chinese manufacturer found in the accompanying documentation.
Substandard Product (Linda M: June 23, 2008)
Immediate shut down of whole unit after turning on twice. Difficulty in reaching technical support. Burden and total cost to comsumer for shipping, repairs, and return freight from the manufacturer.

Window units are better because they're more efficient.
First unit purchased needed to be replaced immediately because it failed to function.
Would only cool air down to about 82 degrees.
Compressor turns on and off, for no apparent reason.

This unit failed to heat, failed to cool and the fan is lousy. It would only cool down to about 82 degrees.
It isn't very portable and has lots of technical problems.
