Reviews of Frigidaire FAP094P1Z Portable Air Conditioner
Noisy (G.Quirolgico, 7/15/2010)
Bought the unit to cool 12x24 basement. Worked well for two seasons but now very noisy and does not cool very well. I suspect there is a loss/leak of the refrigerant and the compressor is causing the noise. The noise comes on only when the compressor kicks in.
Fair to Midland
On the downside, the unit is noisy, and has a poor water pump and sensor. Didn't like how the exhaust worked, either.
On the upside, it uses a normal outlet, is easy to move, doesn't east up any window space and was easy to install. that's about it.
Worked fine, kept my big room cool
I used the FAP094P1Z in a very large bedroom with a very high ceiling, and it kept the room cool, no problem!
Broke after a month or so
After about a month, I experienced major problems with the Frigidaire FAP094P1Z. Even though it was under warranty, it couldn't be fixed. This is a 2004 model that Frigidaire doesn't support anymore. They ended up giving me a full refund after much time and energy.
Got noisy later, possibly defective?
Worked fine for a few months, but then got really noisy, rose and rose till I couldn't think straight. Then the unit died completely. Frigidaire hasn't replaced or repaired it yet, though I tried to get it resolved.
Can't complain
The window kit was very easy to install. Have been using it for a few months with no problems.
