Reviews of Danby DPAC5070 Portable Air Conditioner
Good Value for the Price (Larry S, 7/21/2011)
I've used this portable a/c for four years. It works good, but you need to leave it on all the time. Don't turn it off or it will take a day or so to catch up. It's rated to cool an area of about 175 square feet yet I have used it for 220 sq ft. It has 3 fan speeds, with controls for fan only, a/c, and dehumidifier. Set the cooling temperature for slightly warmer than you want and you'll get good results. I like it about 76 Farenheit. I set it for 78 or 80. Temperature is in 2's. It has a spigot in the bottom of the unit where the water reservoir is located to which you can attach a garden hose. Much easier than dumping the reservoir. The unit automatically shuts down when the reservoir is full. It's important to keep the air filters clean on this unit. Clean them about once per week. Overall, it does the job as intended and the controls are easy to use.
