Commercial Portable Air Conditioner Rental
Portable air conditioners that can cool very large spaces are available for rental or purchase, usually for use
in non-residential situations. For example, large portable units with capacities measured in 'tons' (1 ton=12,000 BTUs per hour) can be rented to cool office
space, computer server rooms or warehouse space. These units are also available for temporary cooling needs at trade shows, special events, hospitals and during emergencies.
Generally larger than in-home portable AC units, these commercial portable units can range in weight from 100 pounds to more than 800 pounds, but are often on castors, so the units can be moved with relative ease.
Commercial units, like residential units, come in single- and dual-hose models (see our glossary).
Commercial systems include:
- Air Cooled, easy to install (single- and dual-hose vents)
- Water Cooled, require an external water system, but need no exhaust ducts
- Mobile Cooling, which can be set up outside of a building
